‘With seven acres of formal gardens, 400 acres of ancient woodland, and a medieval priory, Bilsington Priory Estate has been used as a location for various film and tv productions, and often, a location for high end photography.
The latter occurred recently when Ashford based fashion photographer Zuzu Valla used the gardens to shoot a spring fashion preview feature which made the front cover of Cou Cou Magazine. It’s always great when you make the front cover of any publication, but it’s particularly gratifying when it helps a local business.

Originally from Slovakia, Zuzu is a self-taught photographer, first picking up a camera just ten years ago after being disappointed by using a mobile phone. At the age of 39 she is now on the verge of defining her very own and instantly recognisable style of photography. Her work has graced the pages of style magazines such as Vogue, L’Officiel, Feroce, and Kaltblut. Last year her photography featured in exhibitions in Paris and Iran with more planned for the future.
